Design evolution and description
Located on the sunny shoreline of the ECR with a panoramic view of the Bay of Bengal, the design evolved as the site dictated.
The bold curved walls and heightened bold use of exposed brick directs views to the user from within.
...
A play of solid and voids connects every space to the outside capturing views and creating drama at every level. Green views, moving facades, natural lighting and ventilation are the major design considerations. The multi-level garden increases the spatial relationship and connectivity.
A landscaped driveway leading to covered car parking links the unbuilt to the built space.
Green spaces designed to buffer the hot west sun also become a second skin to the edifice.
The interplay of the curved brick wall with the landscape not only cuts the west heat of the sun but also links to start forming viewing decks with maximum sea view.
Natural Lighting
North east orientation of clear storey allows maximum light with minimum heat gain in to the built space. Circular Light tubes introduce skylight into the courtyard within the structure.
Special spaces and features
Home Théâtre, central courtyard, double height views, private dining decks, terrace garden with beach views, dynamic interiors, skylights, swimming pool, solar powered spaces, orientation of spaces for complete natural light and ventilation.
